Meet Delaware Doula Jessica Hayes
Hi, I'm Jessica.
A wife, a mom of three, living in Delaware, and the heart behind Lilac Roots Co. I know firsthand that birth rarely goes exactly as planned, and that's why I believe every family deserves compassion, judgement-free support and someone to help educate them on some of the biggest decisions.
My goal isn't to tell you how your birth should go. It is to help you feel informed, confident, and truly supported as you welcome your baby into the world.

I know what it's like to dream about one kind of pregnancy and birth and experience something totally different. I've celebrated beautiful moments, faced unexpected turns, and learned that the best birth isn't about perfection, it's about feeling heard, seen, informed, supported, and respected
I have been through several rounds of IVF and have 2 beautiful boys to show for it. While the process was long, lonely, and somedays miserable, I am truly thankful that I was able to experience this so I can now utilize that knowledge to help other families.
I have always been drawn to caring for others. Whether it's offering a listening ear, helping someone through a difficult season, or simply being a steady, reassuring presence, supporting people has always felt like a natural part of who I am.
As I continue expanding my education through evidence-based training and hands-on learning, I am combining that knowledge with something I feel is just as important, compassion.
I strive to bring a calm and steady energy into every birth space and offer encouragement, reassurance and unwavering support so families don't have to navigate the journey feeling alone.
Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or takes an unexpected turn, my hope is that you will never question whether you were supported. Every family deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and cared for and I would be honored to walk alongside yours.
Why I Wanted to Become a Doula

What You Can Expect From Me

Honest Communication
Evidence-Based Education
A calm presence can make all the difference. Whether you're celebrating, questioning, or navigating the unexpected, I'll be there to offer reassurances, encouragement, and unwavering support.
Open, honest communication builds trust. I'll meet you where you are, answer your questions with compassion, and ensure you always feel heard and respected.
Knowledge creates confidence. I'll provide evidence-based resources and education so you can make informed decisions that align with your values and birth preferences.
My Philosophy
Every birth deserves respect. Every family deserves support.
I don't believe birth is about achieving the "perfect" experience. I don't believe there is one "right" or "wrong" way to do birth. It should be about feeling informed, respected, and empowered throughout.
Whether your birth is medicated or unmedicated, vaginal or cesarean, meticulously planned or beautifully unexpected, my role isn't to judge your choices. My role is to support you through them.
Every family deserves compassionate care, honest communication and above all, respect. I will be that calm, steady presence from pregnancy to postpartum.
Your birth. Your body. Your choices. My support.
