Building a Business...and Still Living My Life

One thing that I've promised myself from the beginning of this journey is that I'm not going to rush it.
Could I spend every free evening (which is not many anyways) studying? Probably.
Could I say no to every invitation, every family outing, all the little adventures until my training is complete? Of course I could.
But that's not the kind of life I'm trying to build.
This past week, I closed the laptop and went to a concert with the best sister-in-law a girl could ask for. We laughed too hard, danced too much, and slept too little. But we had an amazing night.
Then while wandering the back-to-school aisle with my boys, I enjoyed simply being present. Being aware and having a quiet mind.
Then Monday rolled around.
The laundry was still there and the dishes hadn't magically washed themselves. My doula coursework was waiting patiently right where I left it. My website still had edits to make. My notebook was full of random ideas from podcasts and books I couldn't wait to organize.
And honestly. That's okay. Building Lilac Roots Co. isn't about racing to the finish line. It's about soaking it in and building something thoughtfully and intentionally.
Because one day, I'll be encouraging families to slow down, trust the process and find calm in the middle of the chaos life throws at us.
I should probably practice what I'll be preaching.
So, if you've been wondering why things were a little quiet for a few days...I was out making some core memories with those closest to me.
Now I'm back, coffee in hand, notebook open, notes all over the place, and more excited than ever to keep learning.
I'm so grateful you're following along as this dream slowly takes root.
